Author Guidelines

We appreciate your interest in submitting your manuscript to Trends in Medical and Biological Sciences (TMBS), a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in medical, biological, and health-related sciences. Please carefully review the submission and formatting guidelines below before submitting your manuscript.

General Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts submitted to TMBS must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. If the manuscript has been previously submitted, authors must provide an explanation in the Comments to the Editor.

  • All submissions must be made electronically through the journal’s online submission system:

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (2016 or later) and formatted as per the journal’s requirements.

  • Active URLs should be included for references where applicable.

  • The complete manuscript (text, tables, figures, and images) must be compiled into a single Word document.

  • Authors must register on the journal’s website before submitting their manuscript.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

Title and Author Information

  • Title: Bold, UPPERCASE, centered, Times New Roman, 16 pt.

  • Author Information: Centered under the title, Times New Roman, 12 pt. Include:

    • Full Name

    • Designation

    • Department, Institution, City, Country

    • Email Address

Corresponding Author

Clearly indicate the corresponding author, including:

  • Full postal address

  • Email

  • Telephone number (with country/area code)

Abstract

  • All manuscripts must include an abstract not exceeding 200 words.

  • Abstract text should be italicized, justified, Times New Roman, 12 pt.

  • The abstract should concisely state the background, objectives, methodology, analysis, key results, and conclusions.

Keywords

Provide 3–10 keywords, listed in alphabetical order, separated by commas, and ending with a period.

Word Count and Document Setup

  • Manuscript length: 3,500–6,000 words. Submissions beyond this limit may be returned for revision.

  • Paper size: A4 (8.27" × 11.69")

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Header/Footer spacing: 0.5 inches

  • Layout: Single-sided text with clear section headings.

Sectioning the Manuscript

  • Use numbered headings and subheadings (e.g., 1., 1.1, 1.1.1).

  • Abstract and References sections should not be numbered.

Tables and Figures

  • All tables and figures should be embedded within the main text.

  • Tables: Title above the table, bold, Times New Roman, 12 pt, centered.

  • Figures: Caption below the figure, same font and style, centered.

Equations and Formulas

Mathematical equations must follow the manuscript’s font style and formatting.

References

  • Use APA Style (latest edition).

  • List references alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.

  • In-text citations must match the reference list (and vice versa).

  • Do not include citations in the abstract.

  • Unpublished results and personal communications should only be cited in-text.

  • For online sources, provide full URLs and metadata (author, title, date).

Author Biography

Each author must provide:

  • A short biography (50–100 words)

  • A recent passport-sized photograph

  • A completed Copyright Agreement Form

Acknowledgment of Funding or Sponsorship

If the research received financial support, grants, or sponsorship, this must be disclosed in the manuscript.
